David Lynch...wait, what?
Posted September 11th, 2008
This week has been a rather interesting week from Netflix. The last 3 movies I received from them have been works by David Lynch, including but not limited to: Mulholland Dr., Eraserhead & Lost Highway. Now I consider myself to be a bit of a contemporary film buff, there's nothing I enjoy more than watching a fine film, however I was extrememly confused.

Here's a summary of Mulholland Dr.:

-Dancing
-Car accident
-Unnatural dialog infront of an airport
-Guy explains his nightmare, then gets scared by a gremlin looking bum
-Amnesia victim in the wrong house
-Amnesia victim becomes friend of the person house she wound up in
-Then about 35 minutes of stuff I forgot
-"Director" gets punched in the face by Billy Ray Cyrus
-Amnesia victim & friend find a dead body
-"Director" meets a cowboy
-Amnesia victim & friend make love
-Amnesia victim & friend go to a show that's about lip syncing
-Amnesia victim's friend wakes up as the "dead body"
-Amnesia victim's friend is now all crabby
-Amnesia victim's friend sees her friend kissing the "director"
-Amnesia victim's friend shoots herself in the head
-THE END

That is verbatim what happened in that movie. Yet this movie scored a 8.0 on IMDB and there's a bunch of Scorsese movies in the 7's?!

Here's a direct quote from David Lynch:

"I like things to be orderly. For seven years I ate at Bob's Big Boy. I would go at 2:30, after the lunch rush. I ate a chocolate shake and four, five, six, seven cups of coffee--with lots of sugar. And there's lots of sugar in that chocolate shake. It's a thick shake. In a silver goblet. I would get a rush from all this sugar, and I would get so many ideas! I would write them on these napkins. It was like I had a desk with paper. All I had to do was remember to bring my pen, but a waitress would give me one if I remembered to return it at the end of my stay. I got a lot of ideas at Bob's."

Vanilla Coke
Posted May 14th, 2008
Remember the week that Coke actually had Vanilla Coke on the market? I sorta do. I remember being the sly clever one ordering vanilla Cokes at diners and the Olive Garden, then when I got wind that Coke was actually releasing them to the masses I thought for sure Cherry Coke was beat. I clearly remember first having one out at lunch and before I finished my first sip, I was over it.

Have a Coke and a smile I suppose?

It happened...finally!
Posted May 4th, 2008
Almost a year of painfully waiting finally paid off. Ashley, the greatest thing to happen to me, surprised me with an early anniversary gift of an iPhone. This marvelous little device is amazing. What else is there to say that hasn't already been said? Today is awesome, I'm on cloud nine.

Slowdown Autodesk
Posted April 13th, 2008
I noticed on Autodesk's website tonight that AutoCAD 2009 is out or about to come out. I didn't spend much time reading it, I just looked to confirm what I had overheard, but yes it's there. They're pumping too many versions of AutoCAD out.

Oh Autodesk, I wish you would implement updates. Thanks for keeping me on my toes at least.
